Responsibilities: - Qualcomm’s Automotive Audio Systems and R&D team is seeking a highly skilled engineer to work on next-generation Automotive Audio and Voice AI technologies.
- The role focuses on combining adaptive signal processing with deep learning techniques to develop advanced speech enhancement, echo cancellation, noise suppression, beamforming, and source localization solutions for automotive infotainment and voice interaction systems.
- The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing advanced AI models for speech enhancement, acoustic echo cancellation, neural beamforming, directional voice pickup, distance-based speech isolation, and noise suppression
- Design and develop advanced audio signal processing and AI-based algorithms for automotive audio systems.
- Develop and optimize adaptive filtering algorithms (LMS, NLMS, RLS, Kalman filtering) for echo cancellation, noise suppression, and beamforming.
- Develop deep learning models using CNNs, RNNs, autoencoders for speech enhancement acoustic echo cancellation, and noise suppression
- Apply multi-microphone and distributed array processing for directionality, tracking, and speech isolation.
- Perform mathematical modeling and analysis of audio signals and system behavior.
- Conduct research, prototype solutions, and demonstrate innovations for real-world automotive applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ML, DSP, systems) for productization.

Qualifications: - Strong foundation in Audio Signal Processing
- 3+ years of experience in audio/signal processing and/or ML research.
- Expertise in adaptive filtering (LMS, NLMS, RLS, Kalman filtering)
- multi-rate signal processing
- Strong knowledge of deep learning techniques (CNNs, RNNs, autoencoders, Transformers).
- Strong skills in Python and/or MATLAB, and programming in C/C++.
- Experience in audio ML model development and deployment ( PyTorch Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and statistical signal processing.
- Experience in automotive audio systems.
- Experience with speech enhancement, echo cancellation, neural beamforming, and noise suppression.
- Expertise in multi-microphone processing, distributed microphone arrays, and source tracking/localization.
- Experience in model optimization and real-time deployment in embedded systems.
- Ability to independently drive research ideas and innovation.
