About the role
The Access Intel Platform team drives the development of a centralized, authoritative system for evaluating authorization policies, eliminating fragmented solutions. This role supports building frameworks for both coarse- and fine-grained access control using open standards like OPA. As part of a global initiative spanning the US and India, the team focuses on delivering a consistent HRMS experience across countries. As an (IND) Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving innovation in distributed systems and AI/ML integration. You will oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with strategic roadmaps and technical excellence. This role requires providing technical leadership, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating across functions to solve complex problems. You will champion best practices in architecture, cloud-native design, and continuous improvement, contributing to Walmart’s technology vision while delivering high-impact solutions that serve millions of customers and associates.
Responsibilities:
