About the role
The Cisco Wireless Radio Software team builds and integrates the firmware and driver layers that power Wi-Fi radios across Cisco’s access point portfolio. We work closely with chipset vendors (Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek), platform teams, and system engineers to deliver high-performance, reliable wireless connectivity at global scale.

Responsibilities:
- As an Engineering Manager for the Wireless Radio / Firmware team, you will build, lead, and scale a high-performing engineering team responsible for radio software development and integration. You will drive execution across firmware, driver, and system layers while shaping the technical direction and ensuring delivery of high-quality wireless solutions.
- This role requires a strong combination of people leadership, deep wireless expertise, and system-level thinking , along with the ability to work closely with chipset vendors and cross-functional teams. In this role:
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of engineers working on radio firmware and driver development
- Drive delivery of
- Wi-Fi features and radio software integration from concept to production
- Collaborate with chipset vendors (e.g., Qualcomm, Broadcom, MediaTek) on firmware, driver issues, and roadmap alignment
- Work closely with platform, feature, QA, and hardware teams to ensure seamless system integration
- Guide resolution of complex, cross-layer issues spanning firmware, drivers, RF behavior, and system software
- Define team priorities, manage execution, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software
- Establish strong engineering practices, including code quality, testing, and debugging methodologies
- Drive adoption of
- AI-assisted development tools and AI-native workflows to improve team productivity and execution
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, learning, and innovation
Qualifications:
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field Have
- 12+ years of experience in wireless systems, embedded software, or radio firmware development Have
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams delivering complex wireless or embedded systems
