About the role

Qualcomm India Private Limited
Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering
Responsibilities: - Our Mission Qualcomm is transforming the compute industry by delivering cloud-scale, production-ready ARM server platforms.
- We design server-class SoCs that integrate high-performance CPUs with advanced interconnects and a robust software stack—optimized for performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency at hyperscale.
- Our charter is to deliver reference ARM server platforms based on Qualcomm server SoCs, spanning silicon enablement, firmware, OS and hypervisor integration, documentation, and ecosystem support for datacenter customers.
- Job Summary Qualcomm is seeking a Sr.
- Staff / Principal level ARM Server SoC Software & Firmware Systems Engineer to act as a system-level technical leader for our next-generation ARM server platforms.
- This role is a cross-disciplinary technical leadership position with responsibility for guiding end-to-end system architecture across silicon, firmware, OS, and platform software.
- You will align multiple engineering teams around architectural intent, guide critical design decisions, track execution across organizational boundaries, and ensure delivery meets production and hyperscale requirements.
- Own and guide the system-level architecture for ARM server SoCs across hardware, firmware, OS, hypervisors, and platform services.
- Operate as a technical integrator across CPU, SoC, firmware, OS, performance, RAS, security, and platform teams.
- Define and enforce clean cross-layer contracts (HW ↔ FW ↔ OS ↔ Hypervisor) using industry standards such as ACPI, PSCI, SBSA/SBBR, and SystemReady.
- Provide architectural leadership for boot flows, runtime firmware, power and performance management, RAS, security, virtualization, memory, PCIe, and telemetry.
- Drive alignment on architectural principles, tradeoffs, and design decisions across multiple teams without direct authority.
- Identify architectural risks and cross-team dependencies early; guide execution and issue resolution to closure.
- Review designs and implementations to ensure adherence to architectural intent, scalability, and production-quality expectations.
- Translate hyperscaler, customer, and ecosystem requirements into clear technical architecture and execution priorities.
- Influence long-term platform and SoC roadmaps through system-level analysis and technical leadership.
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation, technical guidance, and executive-level summaries.
- Mentor senior engineers and emerging architects across firmware and system software domains.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in system software, firmware, or SoC architecture for server or datacenter platforms.
- Strong understanding of ARM64 server architectures and system software stacks.
- Broad technical depth across firmware, OS, hypervisors, power/performance management, RAS, memory, PCIe, and platform services.
- Demonstrated experience leading large, cross-functional technical initiatives without direct reporting authority.
- Proven ability to reason at system level and balance architectural rigor with execution realities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage engineering teams, senior leadership, and customers
- Master’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 15+ years of experience delivering production server SoCs or hyperscale platforms.
- Experience working directly with hyperscaler customers or large datacenter operators.
- Familiarity with ARM, OCP, or related industry standards bodies.
- Demonstrated success operating at Sr.
- Staff or Principal Engineer level, influencing architecture and execution across organizations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
