About the role
We are looking for highly motivated and self-driven team members to strengthen the Cloud Architecture & Advisory team at SAP Global Cloud Operations. You will own the technical architecture of an enterprise platform built on SAP BTP, leading it from design through delivery, release, & production operation. You will set technical direction, guide a small team of developers, & define the engineering standards
Responsibilities:
- 1. Own the solution architecture from business requirements through implementation, release, & production support.
- 2. Lead development across SAP CAP, SAPUI5, OData V4, SAP HANA Cloud, & relevant SAP BTP services.
- 3. Ensure release readiness across Cloud Foundry and, where applicable, Kyma runtime, authorization, CI/CD, monitoring, & operational readiness.
- 4. Make sure the platform meets enterprise standards for security, scalability, maintainability, performance, & observability.
- 5. Contribute to selected AI-enabled product features using SAP AI Core, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt orchestration, tool/function calling, evaluation & observability
- 6. Coordinate developers providing direction, mentorship, code review & support in resolving blockers. Grow the team's capability in SAP BTP development & architecture
Qualifications:
- WORK EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant experience as a software architect, developer, or senior engineer, with a strong track record building production solution on SAP BTP.
- Deep hands-on experience with SAP CAP using Node.js, CDS modeling, SAPUI5, Fiori Elements, OData V4, SAP HANA Cloud, and cloud deployment
- Practical experience using AI coding assistants in real software development
- 1. Solid working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL, and Node.js; experience with Python or Java is a plus.
- 2. Solid grounding in Clean Code, software design patterns, API design, test automation, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
- 3. Strong understanding of SAP BTP security, including XSUAA, identity integration, destinations, authorization models, and secure service-to-service communication.
- 4. Working knowledge of enterprise AI patterns, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings and vector search, and tool/function calling for agentic workflows
- 5. SAP certifications such as SAP BTP Solution Architect, SAP Fiori Developer, SAP Generative AI Developer, or related credentials.
- 6. Experience with SAP Joule, Joule Studio, SAP AI Core, SAP Generative AI Hub, SAP Build, Integration Suite or comparable enterprise AI and orchestration tools is a plus
- 8. Fluency in English is a MUST, any other language an asset.
- 9. Bachelor’s degree in information technology
