About the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) in building scalable production applications.
- Advanced front-end development experience using React and/or Angular with excellent JavaScript skills.
- Proven ability to design and implement robust RESTful APIs/services.
- Strong experience with Maven/Gradle and modern software development lifecycle practices.
- Strong testing expertise across multiple layers:
- Unit testing (JUnit / Mockito).
- Mutation testing (PiTest / Stryker).
- Component/integration testing (Karate / WireMock / React Testing Library) .
- Strong database experience with SQL Server / Oracle, including writing efficient queries and understanding data models.
- Experience with observability, logging, and monitoring tools (Elastic / Kibana) for troubleshooting and production support.
- Strong experience with GitLab / Bitbucket and modern code collaboration practices.
- Experience working closely with DevOps teams and implementing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Good understanding of cloud architecture and deployment models.
- Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, contributing to delivery and engineering practices.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), OpenShift for containerization and orchestration.
- Experience with AI-driven development and automation tools, such as GitHub Copilot / Microsoft Copilot, GitLab Duo, Claude or equivalent AI-assisted development tools (leveraging AI to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and DevOps automation).
