About the role

Responsibilities:
- We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our team.
- This is a hybrid role based in Bangalore, reporting to the Sr.
- Manager, Engineering in the Identity & Access Management department.
- You will help manage digital risk by applying security through identity integration and controls.
- In this role, you will build workflows and application integrations as coordinated with the larger IAM team, Product Management, and Business teams.
- Lead the development of identity management products for Zscaler
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance backend services and APIs using Java
- Ensure code quality by writing and maintaining unit, integration, and performance tests while monitoring, debugging, and optimizing system performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to Agile/Scrum processes like sprint planning and retrospectives
- Participate in on-call rotation to support a highly available engineering platform and ensure compliance with federal guidelines
Qualifications:
- Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions to optimize outcomes within your functional domain
- Deep proficiency in enterprise Java, object-oriented programming (OOP/OOA), systems architecture, RESTful APIs, and frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring
- Good understanding of CI/CD tools and processes
- Hands-on experience with SQL and Postgres
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
- Experience implementing AI-driven anomaly detection, intelligent identity analytics, or machine learning models for automated policy generation within enterprise access management platforms
- Strong understanding of DevOps automation workflows, advanced CI/CD pipelines, and container infrastructure orchestration
- Comprehensive knowledge of Identity and Access Management protocols including OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, and SSO
