About the role
To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated build, deployment, and release processes.
- Hands-on experience with Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, or equivalent DevOps tooling.
- Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift container platforms.
- Experience with deployment automation, environment management, and release support activities.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems, scripting, and system administration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Barclays Cloud Platform (BCP).
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and configuration management practices.
- Experience working with application servers, web servers, and middleware technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments with tools such as Jira.
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, and operational support processes.
- Effective stakeholder management and collaboration skills across development, testing, and infrastructure teams.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Exposure to AWS Cloud Services, container security, and cloud-native architectures.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or ELK.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices, vulnerability management, and security controls.
- Experience with workflow engines, business rules engines, or enterprise integration platforms.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes administration and platform automation.
- Exposure to messaging platforms such as Kafka or MQ.
