About the role
We’re looking for a Lead Engineer in RMS Trade Processing team in Foreign Exchange Technology domain of the Deutsche Bank. Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) is a vital part of the DB Investment Bank that provides our clients with many ways to exchange currencies and manage currency risk. Deutsche Bank has been ranked the Overall FX Market Leader by Euromoney FX Survey. GFX heavily relies on its technology to stay ahead of the competition. Our products are used by thousands of external clients as well as hundreds of internal trading and sales desks and operations. They provide connectivity with brokers, exchanges and clearing houses. Development of our products gives engineers a unique ability to learn business, work with big data and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Drive and lead entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
- Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Design, review, and evolve the architecture of features and services. Design and implement APIs, services, and modules; promote and enforce coding standards and development best practices; actively participate in code reviews
- Drive test automation for new and existing functionality to improve product quality, reliability, and release confidence
- Provide Level 3 (L3) support for mission-critical applications, troubleshooting complex production issues and ensuring system stability, availability, and performance
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, including 5+ years in a technical leadership position
- Strong expertise in Core Java (collections, concurrency, multithreading, networking), Spring Boot, and distributed systems. Working knowledge of the. NET ecosystem and Windows platform. Strong SQL and NoSQL database expertise; Oracle experience is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience applying TDD and BDD practices and designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, observability and monitoring tools (Grafana), OpenAPI standards, RESTful services, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Kubernetes.
- Proven track record of architecting, designing, and delivering complex distributed mission-critical systems, ensuring scalability, resilience, performance, and operational excellence.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
