About the role
Lead Engineer SPR Division: Treasury Technology As part of SPR Treasury Pilot in 2026 year and further implementation of the program in 2027/2028 tangible changes across FIC area are expected to allow Treasury Execution of money market deals booked in SPR. An agile delivery team is being formed to carry out those changes. The team leader will oversee team formation and head the team, ensuring it navigates within Deutsche Bank performance culture, and that program retains momentum. The lead will be responsible for designing and building solutions as part of agile delivery team tasked with accelerating Treasury Execution of SPR delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the programme of work and current state technical landscape within Treasury
- Accountable for ensuring that the software delivered meets functional and non-functional requirements
- Accountable for ensuring that the software delivered adheres to the architectural specifications.
- Accountable for the maintainability of solutions and ensuring that refactoring is appropriately prioritised alongside new requirements.
- Collaborate with architects and developers to deliver component designs
- Follow the agreed development standards
- Facilitate high level estimating and release planning
- Occasional Travel to visit offshore resources may be required
Qualifications:
- 15+ years’ experience in the following areas:
- Experience in high volume data processing / ETL using Java /Kafka/Rabbit M&Q
- Strong performance tuning capabilities
- A track record of building scalable and maintainable applications.
- Strong stream-based processing capabilities
- Experience with reactive / stream-based development patterns (Rx, Akka)
- Experience working with Relational Databases – ideally Oracle Exadata
- XML processing
- Web Services (both publishing and consumption)
- Continuous Integration (Containerization tools like Docker, K8s)
- Experience working in an Agile based team – ideally Scrum
- Experience developing Cloud based solutions (preferably GCP)
- Good have – No SQL database knowledge
- You will
- Be a strong communicator (both written and verbal)
- Have a mindset built on simplicity
- Can work in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
- Have a logical & structured approach to problem-solving in both near-term (tactical) and mid-long term (strategic) horizons.
