About the role

The PEGA Technical Leader is responsible for leading the technical aspects of Pega platform implementations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions. This individual acts as a subject matter expert in Pega architecture, design, and development best practices, guiding development teams and collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
Responsibilities: - Technical Leadership and Architecture
- Solution Design and Architecture:
- Lead the design and architecture of complex Pega applications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, business requirements, and performance objectives.
- This includes defining the data model, integration strategy, security architecture, and UI/UX approach.
- Technical Guidance and Mentorship:
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to Pega development teams, including senior system architects, system architects, and business architects.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Pega Best Practices:
- Champion and enforce Pega best practices, coding standards, and guardrail compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization:
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in Pega applications.
- Implement strategies for performance tuning, scalability, and high availability.
- Integration Strategy: Define and oversee the integration strategy for Pega applications with other enterprise systems, leveraging various integration technologies (e.g., SOAP, REST, Kafka).
- Technical Debt Management:
- Proactively identify and recommend solutions to mitigate technical debt, ensuring the long-term health and maintainability of Pega solutions.
- Development and Implementation Oversight
- Hands-on Development (as needed):
- While primarily a leadership role, may participate in hands-on development for complex or critical components, proof-of-concepts, or to troubleshoot challenging issues.
- Development Process Oversight:
- Oversee the entire Pega development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to testing, deployment, and post-production support.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of Pega solutions through robust testing strategies, including unit, integration, and performance testing.
- Deployment and Release Management:
- Guide the deployment and release processes for Pega applications, ensuring smooth transitions to production environments.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication
Qualifications: - Translation: Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solution designs.
- Technical Presentations: Present technical solutions and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, effectively communicating complex concepts.
- Issue Resolution: Act as a key point of contact for technical issues and escalations

- Vendor Interaction: Interact with Pega Systems (the vendor) for technical support, product roadmaps, and best practice alignment.
- Project Management Support
- Estimates and Planning:
- Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, and risk assessment for Pega initiatives.

- Key Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive Pega Experience:
- Deep expertise in Pega Platform (preferably Pega 8.x or later), including Pega BPM, Pega Case Management, and Pega CRM (if applicable).
- Certifications: Pega Lead System Architect (LSA) certification is highly desirable.
- Senior System Architect (SSA) is a minimum requirement.
- Architectural Design: Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, design patterns, and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- Proficiency in Java, J2EE, XML, SQL, and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
